CARE TEAMS
Offering individualized support and assistance for everyday living.

Care Teams provide social, emotional, practical and spiritual support to individuals and families with health concerns or other special needs. They are composed of Shandon members who are organized, trained, work together, and are Christian friends who offer help that may include transportation, meals, household or yard chores, errands, visits, phone calls and a break for a caregiver.

Parish Nurse, Nancy Reynolds, makes a visit to the individual or family to assess their situation, and then meets with the Care Team to share information that will help the team determine how they can best help. The Care Team cannot meet all the needs, but will meet the most important needs. Shandon currently has four active Care Teams.

The Care Team program is sponsored by national Interfaith CarePartners, and Care Team members attend training.
