Shandon United Methodist Church

We’re Glad You’re Here

We’d love you to be part of the Shandon family.

Life today can be quite challenging. Our complex world can make us feel disconnected, frustrated, and unsure — searching for something more. If in your search you’ve traveled in many directions, you’re not alone. Our life’s journeys are rarely traced with straight lines. More often the roads are many and extend in lots of directions.

No matter where you are on your faith journey – whether you’re just beginning or searching for something deeper – at Shandon you’ll find a place where you can connect and belong, a place to grow in your faith, and a place to make a difference. Life is a journey, and together we’ll find the way. Join us.

What’s Going on at Shandon During the Pandemic

With the Covid-19 pandemic, we are working to keep our church safe and our procedures in line with recommendations from the CDC and SC DHEC. We have a Re-emerge Task Team in place that continually reviews this information and monitors the situation. The team has spent long hours developing protocols for returning in-person. We are slowly and safely beginning to return in-person.

  • In-person worship has returned with limited attendance. It’s a little different, with reservations, masks, and social distancing. If you would like to register, please click here.
  • Worship from Home live-stream worship services. We have two live-stream services: 8:45 a.m. Traditional and 11:05 a.m. LifeLine Contemporary. Services remain available to watch at any time after they air. View the Services
  • Most in-person Sunday school classes and in-person church and community activities are not happening right now.
  • To keep everyone connected and faith nurtured, we’re having a number of online studies and activities, outdoor activities, and drive-through events for all ages.
  • We’re continuing to serve our neighbors in need through a number of mission activities.

Some of our regular events and activities included throughout our website may be different and not happening currently due to the pandemic. You can find out more about what’s going on in our Meet Us at Shandon e-newsletter and on our Upcoming Events page.

Become Part of the Shandon Family

Wherever you are on your faith journey, and however familiar you are, or aren’t, with Christianity or the Methodist tradition, we’d love for you to become part of the Shandon family.

TREK, Shandon’s new member path, is a three-session course to connect you with others new to Shandon, familiarize you with Shandon’s campus, discuss topics related to the Christian faith and United Methodist Church, and help you discover opportunities to serve and be served.

You can find more information about TREK on our New Member Path page.
