Relating the Gospel of Jesus Christ to today’s world

THE BIBLE, THE UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, AND YOU

Shandon hosts a number of conversations and idea exchanges about some of today’s important social concerns. Together, we explore the Bible, the United Methodist Social Principles, and our own views to discuss some of the larger concerns that confront our community and world. These events engage deeper conversations about how we can better live out the Christian call in our community, our country, and our world.

MORE JUSTICE

Response for Equality and Justice – Looking at needs and addressing justice issues in our local community.

MORE Justice (Midlands Organized Response for Equity and Justice), is a network of diverse faith-based congregations coming together to fulfill our scriptural mandate to do justice right here in our own community. MORE Justice builds and uses people power to effect change in communities when unfair practices and unjust policies are identified.

Shandon is one of over 30 congregations in Richland and Lexington counties that work together to empower marginalized people and act powerfully to address serious community-wide problems through direct action.
