Women of all Ages, Community also welcome to attend, invite your friends. Renew your Spirit, Rest your Body, Nurture your Faith, Encourage your Discipleship. Join us as we make time to reflect on God’s presence in our lives and recommit to making time for Him each day.  **Check-in will begin at 4:00 p.m. Our retreat will begin with dinner on Friday evening and will close following our worship service on Sunday morning.

2022 Registration Fees:
Single Occupancy $ 418.00 per person
Double Occupancy $ 292.00 per person
Triple/Quad Occupancy $ 260.00 per person

Room price includes lodging, 5 meals, retreat center amenities, all materials and participation in the retreat sessions.  Participants are responsible for arranging their own roommates and transportation. 
A $100 non-refundable deposit is required at the time of registration.  At least 50% of your balance is due on May 1, 2021 and the final balance is due by November 1, 2021.

Deadlines, Refunds, Cancellations and Substitutions
The $100 deposit is non-refundable. The entire payment is due on Friday, October 1, 2021. Cancellations received before October 1, 2020 are refundable less a the deposit and 3% credit card processing fee, if applicable. Cancellations after October 1, 2021 are non-refundable.

Substitutions may be made until December 15, 2021. Registrations may be transferred to another attendee. Substitutions are allowed using the following guidelines: The substituting attendee must provide a letter or email from the person whose place they are taking authorizing the substitution. The substituting attendee should pay the original attendee directly, since payment will have already been made to the Shandon United Methodist Church.

“The Hunt” for 4s & 5s

Shandon UMC Gym | 03:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Join us in the Gym on Sunday, October 3rd from 3:00 to 4:00 P.M. for fun games, activities, and a bible story! This is a drop off event, and it’s open to children currently in the 4’s and 5K classes at Shandon. Please wear comfortable clothes and sneakers.

Columbia Choral Society in Concert

Shandon UMC Sanctuary | 5:00 p.m.

The Columbia Choral Society, under the direction of Dr. Elizabeth Mears will present a concert in our Sanctuary on Sunday, October 3rd at 5:00pm. The concert will include a vocal solo by the recent student winner of the Guthrie Darr Scholarship.


Blessing of the Animals

Shandon UMC Fountain | 3:00 p.m.

Blessing of the Animals will be held Sunday, October 3rd at 3:00 p.m. by the fountain. In conjunction with the blessing, we will accept donations of dog and cat food to be donated to the Columbia Animal Shelter. (They also appreciate receiving wet kitten food and dry puppy food.) Please drop your donations off to Rev. Shannon Bullion or mail them via Chewy/Amazon to her attention.


Healing Service

Sanctuary | Shandon UMC | 12:00 p.m.

Healing Services will be offered the first Wednesday of every month at noon. The service will take place in the sanctuary. Healing liturgy and communion will be offered at each service.


Broadway Songs & Showtunes on the Lawn

East Lawn | Shandon UMC | 6:00pm

Owen Connolly, tenor, Bruce Isley, baritone, and Anna Flynn, soprano, will sing a program of Broadway songs and show tunes. The concert will be on the East Lawn, Sunday, October 10th at 6:00pm. Owen, Anna, and Bruce are Staff Singers at Shandon and sing in the Chancel Choir.

TFF at Peak (3rd, 4th, 5th Grade)

Peak at Heathwood Hall | 2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Join us for our fall PEAK adventure…Team Building and PEAK Challenges! Drop off and pick up at Heathwood Hall Peak Field. We will enjoy the PEAK challenges, try our hand at some team building stunts and share a devotion. Please wear closed toe shoes, bring a jacket and a refillable water bottle. Please put your name on all items! Participants will need to submit a PEAK Waiver. Registration is required.

UMW Plant Sale & Frozen Soup Sale

Shandon UMC Parking Lot | 09:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

BEST EVER PLANT SALE – Outside and socially distanced with masks required. CASH ONLY. This will help us raise money for missions/charities since we are unable to do some of the things we normally do.
FROZEN, HOMEMADE QUARTS OF SOUP SALE – Quarts of different kinds of delicious homemade soups will be available for sale. This money also goes to support our missions.

Organ Recital: Felix Hell

Sanctuary | Shandon UMC | 07:30pm

Felix Hell, organist, will present an organ recital in our Sanctuary on Friday, October 29 at 7:30pm. Felix is one of the most sought-after organists in the world. He has been featured as a soloist in more than 1000 concerts throughout North America, Europe, Asia, and Australia. He has studied at the Julliard School in New York City, the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia, and the Peabody Conservatory in Baltimore. This concert is sponsored by the South Carolina Chapter of the Fellowship of United Methodists in Music and Worship Arts, the Columbia Chapter of the American Guild of Organists and Shandon UMC.


Trunk or Treat

Shandon UMC Parking Lot | 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.

Decorated car trunks are back!!! Trunk or Treat will take place on Sunday, October 31 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. in the church parking lot. Please let Rev. Shannon ( know if you are able to help distribute candy via a decorated trunk! This is a community-wide event so we need lots of candy and decorated trunks! Please remember that unchurched folks will be in attendance and we hope to show them God’s light and love.

Wherever you are in your faith journey, and however familiar you are (or aren’t) with Christianity or the Methodist tradition, the Trek has something to offer. All potential new adult members must complete the Course prior to joining. Youth in 8th grade and above are also welcome to attend, but younger children usually wait to attend Confirmation in 6th or 7th grade. Each Course is made up of two key ingredients: time in class and time in the field.
