SUMC Book Club now meets on 3rd Thursdays, in person from 5:30-6:30 p.m.

Discussing what you read is an easy and enjoyable way to get to know people on a deeper level and to expand your thinking and faith. Come join the conversation! The books are in a broad range and chosen six months out at regular meetings. Newcomers are warmly welcomed any time.

Mobile Mammography Bus

The Prisma Health Mobile Mammography Van is coming again to Shandon on Friday, December 16, 2022, in Shandon’s parking lot across Devine Street. If you are 40 years of age or older, no doctor’s order is required. All of those under the age of 40 will have to have an order. All participants need to bring their insurance card and a picture ID. Note: You cannot schedule a mammogram within six weeks of receiving a COVID Booster shot. Reservations may be made by calling 803.434.9100. Be sure to specify that the location is for Shandon United Methodist Church.

Hope For Homes

Join us in shining a light on family homelessness by purchasing a luminary kit today to give a homeless family hope for a better tomorrow.  Order your kits today and decorate bags as a family, block, or entire neighborhood. On November 16 at 6 p.m. we will support Homeless No More and light up our luminaries to show our community’s support of homeless families.

Trunk or Treat

Our community-wide Trunk or Treat is an annual event where the community shows up by the hundreds. This year it will be on Sunday, October 30, from 5:00–7:00 p.m. You can help by donating candy and by decorating your car trunk. If you are interested in decorating your trunk, sign up at Hope to see you there!
